Seriously, what is up with that?! The last entry I made to Jemaholics was in April of 07! Shockingly bad, my friends! This last year has been dreadfully busy for me, to say the very last. I haven't even updated my regular DA account all that much in the past year (though, certainly a bit more than our poor neglected Jemaholics!) But, I've had a couple of messages from folks asking about the group, so I thought it was high time to get things back up and running. So how about a bit of fun?! We've done drawing contests in the past, but how about a little story telling?

Personally, I really enjoy writing Jem-themed fanfic. They're such a vibrant bunch of personalities, it's always fun to come up with something for them to do. For the sake of this writing challenge, lets establish a few guidelines:

1. Your story must be set during or after an episode from the series. If it happens after, it should be something that might occur due to the events in one of theepisodes (for example, after 'Journey to Shangrila' Pizzazz suddenly has a giant furry new boyfriend to introduce around L.A. or what DID Stormer do while she was off on her own in Seattle during 'The Jazz Singer?'

2. Must feature a character from the series, preferably a member of the Holograms, Misfits, or Stingers. If you've got an amazing idea for Danse or Regine or another minor character... well, as long as it's really amazing and some of the main characters show up, thats ok, too. Sorry guys, no made-ups.

3. Please include in the heading of your story a title, rating, episode and character your story revolves around. Standard 'movie ratings' apply. I'm not going to exclude anyone for subject matter or language, just give everyone an ample idea of what to expect; but please, no porn. Rated 'R' situations are fine as long as they're labeled as such. Slash fic is fine, too, but again, no porn, please. The heading might look something like this:

Title: The Rat and the Rock Star
Rating: PG-13,
Episode: takes place during the "Jem Jam'
Main Character: Pizzazz/Tech Rat

4. No word limit, so be creative and have fun!

5. Submission deadline is June 21st, summer solstice.

6. Please spell check your story before you submit it.

Ok, I think thats about it for the rules. They're pretty lax (I think), and I've purposely left it open as far as subject matter. If you can imagine it and it fits within the guide lines, go for it! I'd really love to get as many people in on this one as possible. I know we've got a few writers in the group, let's see what you've got!
